Mr Meredith is a Consultant Eye Surgeon with a specialist interest in Oculoplastic (eyelid), Lacrimal (watery eye), Orbital and Cataract surgery.

Mr Meredith graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2010 after receiving several prizes and a distinction in Medicine and Surgery. After undertaking junior doctor training at Addenbrookes’ Hospital he completed seven years of post-graduate Ophthalmic Specialist Training on the south coast of England including one year of advanced specialist training in Oculoplastics in Portsmouth. He completed a further two internationally recognised advanced fellowships in Oculoplastic, Lacrimal and Orbital surgery at Cardiff and Manchester before taking up his consultant post at the Newcastle-upon-Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust where he is currently the Royal College of Ophthalmology Tutor. Mr Meredith is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmology and a member of the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society.

He is actively involved in education and training helping to run the Newcastle oculoplastic fellowship, enjoys teaching future surgeons as part of the Royal college of Ophthalmology Surgical Skills Faculty, and is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

He is active in research with multiple awards and papers published and is currently Principal Investigator for a number of trials of novel monoclonal antibody treatments for Thyroid Eye Disease.

Away from work he enjoys spending time with his three young children, travel and keeping fit.
